Delta State Govt. Vows To Deal With Violators Of Environmental Laws, Says Asiuwhu
Yesterday 15th of Jan. 2024, the Chairman, Delta State Taskforce on Environment, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu JP, continued his routine field assessment, to Sapele wood market and Ogbe-Ijoh market.
Chief Asiuwhu, expressed his displeasure over reckless & blatant behaviors of Sawmills handlers, to environmental laws.
He was saddened, seeing the heaps of sawdust Littering a large span of areas and the uncontrolled burning of sawdust in the areas.
In his words, ” the lives in this city is in danger of cardiovascular disease because of what I am seeing now.”
And he vowed to do something drastic to avert this impending danger.
While in Ogbe-Ijoh market, he frowned at the littering of the market bridge waterways resulting to its blockage.
As a result, he said appropriate measures will be put in place to punish violators of the environmental laws
